Who are dramatherapists?

Making contact with dramatic play

Dramatherapists are registered arts therapists with the Health and Care Professions Council. Clients are encouraged to use their expressive and creative skills to explore their thoughts and feelings. This approach can be particularly beneficial for people whose difficulties are hard to put into words.

How does dramatherapy work?

Dramatherapy uses drama and creative techniques therapeutically to benefit communication, emotional and psychological health of children and adults. It allows difficulties to be explored at a safe distance such as through objects or movement. This can be particularly helpful for people with all levels of support needs or different communication styles

No previous experience of drama is needed to participate.
